Koalas, kangaroos...spiders.

So today we set out on an adventure to a small town called Bordertown. It's right on the border of the 2 states Victoria and South Australia. We're now located on the South Australia side as posed to Victoria where I was. It was a 6 hours drive with over 20 people. We had 2 vans and one small car. Very fun time. I saw my first ever koala!!!!!!!!!!! Got some very lovely photos of it, and later we had the honor of seeing white kangaroos. This is the only place in the world where they can be found. We are now settled in our living accommodations, and within 15 minutes of being in our room we were greeted by a spider bigger than a toonie on our wall. Many screams were heard hahaha hilarious. So ya, very tired but excited for this week. We are going to be joining up with some of the locals and spreading the love of Jesus around the community!! It will be very exciting and full of new experiences. Its great to be out of the city and in a real Aussie town :)

Spring is coming

So my time in Australia just keeps getting better and better every day. I miss all of you so much but God has really placed some rad people in my life. Friendships just keep growing stronger and stronger. I've become so busy with the reading and the work duties and helping others that I don't have much down time. Every weds day I get the privilege of doing some gardening for older folks around the area. They are so lovely and always serve us with coffee and yummy snacks. I hate gardening but I really enjoy doing it for others and seeing such good results afterwards. On Friday nights I have the privilege of working with a local youth group. Recently I've just been getting to know them more and more and we have heaps of fun. On October 29th we will be traveling to a town about 4-6 hours distance from here to do some outreach with the youth in the town of Boardertown. I'm so excited about traveling!! That's just a small update :) oh ya and it's spring so its starting to get warm ;)

Be blessed by blessing.

Week 2!!! this week we are learning about the character of God. A subject that could be studied for years!! We are 2 days in and I already feel like my mnd has been expanded 10X on how awsome God is. We are learning the characteristics of God that he ment for us to have when he said he created us in His image. Such a challenge.
While here I have the opportunity to spend 2 hours 3 days a week with a family here on base. They have 2 kids Tilly,3, and Will,1. Gina and Chris are the parents. Gina has breast cancer and is on the road to healing the hand of the Lord. I go there and help her clean or babysit the kids. Whatever needs to be done. The kids are very precious and I cannot stress enough how blessed I am to be working with this family. Today Gina was resting while i was cleaning and a flood of love came over me when I realized im there to serve them and help them out but really I am the one who is being blessed. I almost started to cry at how great this experience is for me. God is contiously opening my heart to His love, I know he wants to overwhelm me with his goodness and I happy am to let Him. Gods waiting to bless you today, in the work you may do to serve others, just think of Jesus and what he did for others. He got joy out of serving those around him and he saw the beauty in those who could use a helping hand. Often we are too focused on ourselvesnto take the time to help those around us that we end up missing out on taking on the character of Jesus. Jesus loved to serve others, he did it happily and willingly and he blessed those he came in contact with. We need to be more like Jesus.

just for start.

This past week has been a ride. Flying here was enough to change me. The things I saw, the positive and negative, really made me realize every 18 year old should take a trip overseas on their own.
I was surprisingly not afraid at all during this time, God was holding my hand the entire time. Now that I am here I cannot imagine my life any different. God has blessed me with such a great family here I have brothers and sisters to spare and father and mother figures to go to. This past week I really struggled with a great sickness and was blessed to have people pray for me and make me soup!! As far as classes go God has been changing us all. I feel like I have the intellect of a child and I am just starving to know more. We are now entering week 2 of classes and I cannot even comprehend how much we will have grown by the end basing our growth on just one week.
